"I grew up in Auckland and decided to be a vet around
the age of 12. I graduated from Massey University with distinction
in 1986 and, with a view to getting experience in all species,
took my first job in Alexandra, Central Otago, where I stayed
for 3 years. I then took a year off to train and race in
multisport before spending the bulk of the next 11 years
in the UK. Whilst in the UK I completed my Certificate in
Anesthesia and studied towards my Certificate in Small Animal
Medicine until the premature birth of my first child required,
with no regret, that I spend my time doing other things!
I have a wonderfully supportive wife, Karen, who really
believes in what we're doing and the service we provide.
Our children: Jordan, Nigella and Carmen are three fantastic
assets to our lives and are often to be seen helping me
at the clinic or caring for patients when I take them home.
Remarkable Vets is the first practice I have owned and one
of my main priorities is to make it a place that people
and their pets actually enjoy coming to. Keeping the atmosphere
relaxed and having consultations in or outside of the clinic
doors are just ways of keeping it fun. Being a vet does
not feel like having a job. It's a passion that just keeps
on getting fuelled. I can confidently say that starting
the clinic has been the best professional decision I have
ever made and I look forward to every day. See you there!"
